RTA Monitoring & Enforcement reviews with DED the use of online car rental system

The Monitoring and Enforcement Department, Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has continued the onging meetings with various RTA strategic partners with a view to figuring out positive and definite solutions that serve the public interest. In this context, the Department has recently met with a number of officials of the Department of Economic Development (DED) in Dubai to activate the administrative penalties regarding the use of the online information system set for car-rental offices.

At the start of the meeting the Director of RTA Monitoring and Enforcement Ahlam Al-Feel welcomed the ongoing interaction with various community-serving entities; which, she says, “Underscores the extent of joint attention towards uplifting the level of services in the public interest pursued by both organizations. She highlighted the key roles & responsibilities shouldered by the Monitoring and Enforcement Dep’t in the process of delivering its mission of monitoring and inspecting the business conduct of service-providers as well as the clients of the Licensing Agency to verify their compliance with the implementation of numerous legislations and regulations in place.”

The Director of Commercial Compliance, the Department of Economic Development in Dubai Waleed Abdul-Malik shed light on the key roles & responsibilities undertaken by the Department as far as offences are concerned where he elaborated the means of motivating inspectors through a score system based on offences reported over a year-long period.

The two parties agreed during the meeting to share the names of inspectors in an effort to establish an e-link enabling direct communication between inspectors of both parties with the aim of exchanging various inspection points relating to the commercial registration of car-rental offices and explore the possibility of running joint inspection campaigns.

At the end of the meeting the Director of RTA Monitoring and Enforcement Ahlam Al-Feel praised this involvement and the huge interaction between the two parties towards achieving their ultimate objectives and yielding positive results capable of upgrading the business conduct and stepping up the joint coordination between various government bodies in Dubai Emirate.
