The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai is offering 195 outlets for rent on the Red and Green Line stations. A press statement issued on Friday said that 116 retail outlets are offered for rent on the Red Line stations while 79 outlets are being offered on the Green Line.
The Rail Agency of Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) reported that about 106,000 passengers have used the Green Line on the first two days since the opening day. Passengers travelled between 16 stations representing a full and substantial integration with the Red Line in serving the largest possible chunk of public transport commuters in Dubai Emirate.
His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), has recently inspected the Green Line of the Dubai Metro to make sure that all systems go for the scheduled opening on Friday 09/09/2011 where customer service employees and inspectors have already assumed their duties at various stations.
For this end RTA has constructed the Dubai Metro project; which is considered the longest driverless metro line ever constructed in the world as a single project. The Red Line was opened on 9/9/2009 and the Green Line is to be opened next September.
The metro will continue operating until 3am on January 1. That means that the final trains will depart from Ibn Battuta and Al Rashidiya stations at 2am, and the service hours of public buses, water buses, abras and water taxis will also be extended to finish by 3am.
“This change comes in response to the public desire to have the metro service hours extended on the occasion of the New Year which will be marked by a variety of activities, including the massive fireworks display at Burj Khalifa; which is set to attract thousands of visitors,” said Adnan Al Hamadi, CEO of RTA Rail Agency.
The CEO of Rail Agency, Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) Adnan Al Hamadi stated that all rules and details pertinent to the railway regulation in the Emirate of Dubai along with the Regulations of Railway Procedures enforced for the protection of the infrastructure within the railway right of way have been posted on RTA’s website in both Arabic and English languages such that the public can have easy access to them, save much of their time & effort.
The CEO of Rail Agency, Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) Adnan Al Hamadi, urged the public to use metro on the Public Transport Day; a key initiative recently launched by the RTA scheduled on November 1st, 2010. He hailed the initiative, which is the first rolled on by the RTA to encourage the public to use public transport modes and benefit from the multiple advantages and features that render them trustworthy by all users at all times. The Metro is one of these means that offer commuters a convenient ride across Dubai roads, he noted.
H.E. Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board & Executive Director of the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), announced that RTA had completed the construction works in most stations on the Green Line of the Dubai Metro, following the full completion of the 23-km long track extending along the Green Line. Completion rates in stations currently range from 55 to 100 percent in the finishing works, 65 to 85 percent in electromechanical works, and as high as 85% in the Park-and-Ride facilities at Al Qusais.
"RTA keeps in high regard the huge role played by vendors in meeting RTA objectives in delivering projects and rendering services. These regular gatherings offer a good platform to discuss a range of issues with suppliers, heed to their views and feedbacks on RTA projects, identify their needs, and seek to address them on a timely basis,"
