The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) on Tuesday honoured the winners of the 6th Dubai Award for Sustainable Transport (DAST) 2013, an initiative launched to encourage public and private sectors to help reduce traffic congestion and uphold environment conservation efforts.
The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) and the University of Wollongong in Dubai discussed ways & means of boosting their joint cooperation towards improving the forthcoming edition of the Dubai Award for Sustainable Transport (DAST).
The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) considers sponsors of the Dubai Award for Sustainable Transport (DAST) as partners in the success made by the Award since launched in 2008 in view of the material & moral support provided, rendering the Award capable of making excellent progresses and broadening its reach to cover government and semi-government entities as well as private businesses across the UAE rather than being just confined to Dubai Emirate; which in turn consolidated the sustainable transport concepts in the UAE.
The key feature of the 4th DAST edition 2011 is the expansion of its reach to cover the whole UAE; a step which will be marked with a shift in the scope of the Award, and raise the bar on the competitiveness between the public, semi-public entities as well as private businesses operating in the UAE.
The Higher Committee of the Dubai Award for Sustainable Transport (DAST) has recently discussed with the members of the Award’s Judges Panel the best means of upgrading the process of screening submissions and the timeline set for adjudging them with the aim of creating a highly competitive platform for the third edition of the Award 2011.
