The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), has recently obtained ISO 50001:2011 certification in Energy Management System, thus has become the first Dubai Government entity and the first public transport provider in the MENA region to obtain this certification.
The Asset Department, Corporate Technical Support Services, at Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), in collaboration with the Institute of Asset Management – UK, has conducted an Asset Management Test; the first of its kind in the Middle East about innovative & modern asset management techniques built on the highest international standards, where around 10 employees from various RTA’s sectors and agencies concerned with assets were subjected to this test.

The Social Initiatives Team at the Corporate Technical Support Services Sector, Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), has recently visited Al Mizhar Primary School for Girls in Dubai to brief students on the ‘Read More’ initiative launched by the RTA in 2010 targeting students at various age brackets with a view to urging and motivating them to develop the habit of reading, in view of its contribution to furthering the mental & intellectual faculties and disseminating the general knowledge.
The Facilities & Installations Department, Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), has recently met in RTA Head Office with a host of local entrepreneurs to explore managing & investing a number of land plots that have been allocated as lay-bys for heavy trucks in the Emirate of Dubai on the basis of Build, Operate & Transfer (BOT).
The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has issued exclusive Nol Silver and Gold cards for public transport users in Dubai and made them available at all metro stations in celebration of the UAE 40th National Day on Dec.2, in a limited edition comprising not more than 10,000 cards.
