The Roads and Transport Authority has completed the maintenance and development works of two arterial bridges on the Al Ittihad and Arabian Gulf squares against Dh2.7 million.

Official sources said the two major bridges were opened with full capacity for traffic on Sunday morning. “The two developed bridges have given a big boost to traffic flow and transport in Sharjah.”

The Authority is, meanwhile, completing the regular maintenance and development works of all the bridges of the emirate, mainly the hinges which are being fortified.

“These works go in line with the new advanced bridges and roads being built across the emirate as per a well-studied plan to cope with the set schedules to ease and accelerate transport all over the emirate.”

The concrete pillars, bases of the bridges, and supporting walls have all been maintained and fortified, they explained. “All maintenance works were carried out from 12:00 am to 5:00 am, with only a partial closure of some lanes.” More info
