DUBAI METRO 2024

The Metro system’s Green Line is on track to open in August as testing to evaluate its preparedness continues. Ramadan Mohammed, the director of the Roads and Transport Authority’s (RTA) rail operations department, said regular trials were carried out through the Ramadan period to assess the line’s track, brake and power systems.

The offer, which runs until September 30, 2010, will enable families discover the delights of Dubai this summer, the airline said in a statement. The statement said two children up to the age of 16 could enjoy free flights on Emirates, in addition to tourist visas, accommodation, meals, rides on the Dubai metro, airport transfers and access to numerous attractions when accompanied by two full-paying adults.

Coming back from future, one of the brightest beacons of RTA’s present green credentials is the Dubai Metro. Metro by its nature is an environmentally sustainable mode of transportation. It operates on clean fuel (electric) with advanced features such as regenerative braking, which regenerates electricity while slowing down to fuel other trains in the fleet.

Dubai Metro may have altered the commuting scene in this car-loving city, but a year after the first train left the station winning over the hard-core motorists remains an uphill struggle. Despite Dubai's severe financial crisis however, the rail authority is determined to complete its second line, delayed for more than a year.

But the Dubai Metro was more than just another infrastructure project. In true Dubai style, it stood out for being the world's biggest, fully-automated driverless train, and for aiming to be the longest automated metro network service ever once the second line was finished.

After travelling on the Dubai Metro a few times I came up with the idea of making a time-lapse movie of the journey from Rashidiya to Ibn Battua stations. I have had experience of making time-lapse movies before and thought that the Metro would make an interesting and exciting project.

He stressed that DTC would stand ready to receive customer requests for taxi services and despatch taxicabs to a variety of residential districts, shopping malls across the emirate and Dubai Metro stations, besides executing booking and despatch requests, and ensure communication through 04-2080808.

Dubai Metro is a driverless, fully automated Metro network built at a cost of Dh28 billion. The number of stations which are currently operational on the Red Line number 21, from a total of 29. The remaining eight stations on the same line are expected to be opened by the end of the year.
