Dubai’s metro inched closer to full operation this weekend with the opening of seven more stations, but despite a limited service, construction delays and annoying carriage music it has managed to win over car addicts and prove doubters wrong.

All schools in Dubai Emirate can now have their transactions related to the issuance of No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) processed online as regards to the renewal of school bus driving licenses, and payment of fines related to violations of School Transport Law.

The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has sold 67,184 Nol Gold Cards to the commuters on Dubai Metro’s Gold Class Cabin since the launch of the Metro service on 090909 up to the end of March 2010 at a monthly average of 9,592 Nol Gold cards.

Dubai Metro has been used as a location for the next Bollywood movie starring Salman Khan, it has been reported. Cast and crew filmed a scene of ‘Dabangg’ at Khalid Bin Waleed station on Friday between 8am and 2.30pm while the station was closed, Emirates Business reports.

More than 67,000 Gold Class Nol cards have been sold for Dubai Metro since the network launched in September, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) said on Monday.

"We are considering to increase time but it will only be done after a comprehensive study of the usage of the Dubai Metro and the passengers' needs and ridership is completed," said Ramadan Abdullah, director of operations at the Rail Agency of the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
