DUBAI METRO 2024

Evidence of the misery the global economic slowdown has heaped on a city that dizzyingly grew in the last ten years can be seen while traveling in the spankingly new driver-less elevated Dubai metro that traverses a distance of 53 km and runs along many of Dubai high-rises, buildings and malls.

The Dubai Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has won two awards of the biannual Gulf Traffic Conference & Exhibition 2009 in recognition of its competence in the fields of safety, transport and infrastructure in the Middle East.

Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has provided 112 information platforms in the shape of LCD monitors installed at 76 locations or more in the Emirate of Dubai under Phase I of its promotional campaign aiming at educating the public on projects & services rendered by various RTA agencies using the highest technology on offer.

Some iconic projects are the Dubai Metro, Bahrain Bay, Burj Dubai, Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Sports City, Jebel Ali Airport, Meydan Race Course, Dubai Motor City, Aldar Head Quarters, Yas Island and Al Reem Island in Abu Dhabi.

Interiors giant Depa has won the AED 245 million (US $67m) contract to fit-out 11 stations on the Green Line of Dubai Metro through its Lindner Depa Interiors joint venture.
