Seiichi Otsuka, the Japanese consul general in Dubai, claimed firms are still owed billions of dollars on projects that include the Dubai Metro and Palm Island.

Dubai Metro has broken the 3 million passengers’ barrier according to statistics compiled by Rail Agency at Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) which revealed that metro ridership has hit 3,492,175 passengers lifted in two months from the start of operation on 10 stations on the Red Line on 09/09/09 up to 09/11/09.

For his part the Canadian Consul General in Dubai praised Dubai Metro project, the fine design, top class finishing works and excellent service provided to customers.

Following the successful launch of the Dubai Metro on the 9th of September 2009, the Road and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai is pleased to report the growing patronage of the Dubai Metro as nearly 3 million passengers have used the metro on the first two months of its operation.

Over three million people used the Dubai Metro from September 9 to November 9, according to figures released by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
