Thanks to Queen Elizabeth 2 (QE2), one of the most elegant vessels ever built in history, the last night of year 2011 became one of the most exclusive New Year’s Eve celebrations in Dubai.

The invite-only black tie event began with the walk-through of royalties, international stars, sports personalities and other dignitaries onto the welcome reception.

While being served with overflowing cocktails and bubbly, the VIPs were entertained by world-renowned Drury Lane swing show from London’s West End and jazz performers at the posh welcome lounge before boarding the iconic luxury vessel, which is now a floating hotel docked in Port Rashid since 2008.

After more than an hour of mingling, the QE2 patrons witnessed the spectacular light, laser and projection show. But before finally stepping aboard the decades-old ship, hundreds of QE2 guests were whisked into the glamorous red carpet.

Headlining the famous personalities that were spotted gracing the stylish red carpet were UK aristocrat Lady Victoria Harvey, Hollywood actor Allan Lamb, former Girls Aloud member Nathalie Houy and ex-Steps beauty Lisa Scott Lee.
