RTA Customers Council discusses enhanced e-services

In its 14th gathering held recently, the Customers Council of the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) discussed several topics and aspirations in common between the Corporate Technical Support Services Sector and the strategic partners in the Dubai e-Government with the aim of upgrading the level of e-services in offer. The meeting was chaired by RTA CEO and Chairperson of Customers Council Mohammed Obaid Al Mulla in the presence of the CEO of RTA Corporate Technical Support Services Sector Abdullah Al Madani as well as members of Customer Council and representatives of the Dubai e-Government.

RTA cuts 3 routes to Sharjah

The three routes were 301, which was spanning from Al Rashidiya Metro Station, 308 from Jebel Ali Metro Station, and 309 from Al Qouz Industrial Area and Al Waha Village. When the RTA opens Metro’s Green Line in August this year, that’s when the passengers from Sharjah may have Al Qusais as the closest point for them to enjoy Dubai’s Metro. Now, the other closest points to the Metro from Sharjah are one near Deira City Centre and at the Union Station.

Public transport ridership clocked 332m passengers in 2010

His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), has revealed that RTA mass transit means, comprising the Dubai Metro, public buses, marine transit modes and taxis, have lifted more than 332 million passengers in 2010, compared to 288.777 million passengers in 2009. The average number of daily riders in 2010 was about 957 thousand persons compared to 800 thousand persons in 2009.
