RTA launches Phase II of Bus and Taxi Dedicated Lanes

RTA opens two new water taxi stations

With the number of light motor vehicles at close to 900,000, that works out to about two cars for every man, woman and child residing in the emirate, among the world's highest ratios.

France's Alstom signs MOU for Baghdad metro

French engineering group Alstom (ALSO.PA) has signed an outline agreement with Iraq to build a metro line above Baghdad's streets, an official said. Shaker al-Zamili, the head of Baghdad Investment Commission, said on Thursday Iraqi officials signed a memorandum of understanding with Alstom in France last week. An Alstom spokeswoman in Paris confirmed the agreement was signed last Saturday, allowing exclusive talks for the building of 25 km (15 miles) of high-level track.
