Dubai Metro operator on track for global revenues by 2012

Serco said that operating profit margins are forecast to rise to 6.3% by the end of 2012. "It is not allowed to park vehicles under the elevated tracks or dump any waste or set up any business on the right of way of the Dubai Metro," a senior official of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) told Gulf News. He said motorists who park their vehicles under the elevated track or any non-designated areas near the Metro facilities risk being fined or having their cars towed away.

The Dubai Metro running time has been extended by one hour to cope with the expected rush during the Eid Al Adha holiday, said a senior official at the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). The Metro's operating hours will be from 6am to 1am from Monday to November 20.

Dubai Bypass Road section linking Abu Dhabi opens

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) opened Phase 4 of the Dubai Bypass Road on Thursday, linking the road with Al Faya Road, Seih Shuaib in Abu Dhabi, better known as ‘Trucks Road’. The road section has three camel crossings, also used as turn points. All service utility works have been completed along with the lighting poles.
