Number of fatal accidents in Dubai decline
Number of deaths due to traffic accidents in Dubai during the first 10 months of 2010 decreased compared to the same period last year. Only March and July saw an increase of deaths this year. There were 20 deaths reported in March this year against 18 in the same month last year, while July saw 14 fatal accidents compared to 10 last year, he added.

Making ends meet
The Dubai Metro was one such project where the company offered its services. For this project it was decided that the construction be segmented, so parts of the deck are precast elsewhere and assembled on site using a special gantry. “Sometimes if we can’t use the existing design,” he says, “the company proposes an alternative. We were able to achieve a segment for every two days. We own the specialist equipment, and it’s the first of its kind in the GCC.

A million Metro riders during Eid
Dubai Metro is becoming a favourite commuting option every passing day with more than a million commuters using the service during the Eid holidays. "We are very pleased with the response from the commuters as [the] number of passengers using the Metro has constantly been increasing," said Ramadan Abdullah, Director of Rail Operations at the Rail Agency of the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). He said the extended hours also attract more commuters.
