DUBAI METRO 2024

The Dubai Metro has won the Best Outdoor Advertising Award (Best use of Ambient Advertising: Small Scale) under the Outdoor Grand Prix Campaign of Dubai Lynx Middle East during the 3rd Dubai International Advertising Festival which was held from 14 to 16 March 2010 in Dubai, UAE.

China’s growing economy requires more oil from the region, and the nation vows to reciprocate by delivering more tourists, products and military know-how to the Emirates. Chinese engineers also worked on the Dubai Metro, and are eyeing the planned UAE railway system that could open in phases beginning in 2013.

At least 10 kiosks with high-speed internet service have been installed at different locations in the city to help commuters use the ‘Wojhati' service to plan their journey on public transport.

But what follows after the big jobs are done? It is right to assume that the impact of the slower business environment will follow later, of course. There is no compensation for a big project such as the Dubai Metro.

The number of Dubai Metro trains running along the Red Line is set to almost double from 12 to 20 from mid-April, XPRESS can reveal. Operations between already open stations from Nakheel Harbour and Towers to Rashidiya will be beefed up in the next few weeks in preparation for the launch of new stations in the last week of April.

RTA Rail Agency has issued 121 offences to Metro users, during February 2010, while commuting across the eleven stations of the Red Line, and the statistic reveal a 34% drop, compared to January where 183 offences issued.

The UAE's infrastructure construction industry is predicted to grow by 3.3 percent in 2010, fuelled by Abu Dhabi which is set to spend $15bn over the next three years on projects. Business Monitor International said it had cut its growth assessment for the country's infrastructure sector amid concerns over Dubai's debt crisis.
