H.E. Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has recently opened Rail Agency and Serco (The Metro Operator) Knowledge Transfer Program; which runs through December 2011.

The high-speed railway includes the Doha Metro Network; an east coast rail link; a high-speed link between the new Doha International Airport, Doha city centre and Bahrain via the planned Qatar-Bahrain Friendship Bridge; a freight rail link based on the GCC rail link studies; and light rail systems within specific developments, including Qatari Diar’s Lusail mega-project.

THE transportation authorities in Dubai, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), are opening the main bridge on Sheikh Zayed Road on Wednesday.

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the completion of all construction works at the first interchange on Sheikh Zayed Road; which will be opened for traffic by the end of January 2011. The Dhs617m project comprises bridges extending more than 3kms and tunnels measuring 850 meters.

A visual presentation was then conducted featuring the present and future projects of Rail Agency, and highlighting the most important lessons learned from the implementation of the Dubai Metro Project; one of the largest projects throughout the region.

The Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC), Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), has launched "The Drivers’ Mentor Award 2010" worth AED 61,000 in total, in the context of its preventive plans to educate cabdrivers on safe driving, and raise the operational efficiency of the DTC.

The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has achieved the prestigious ISO 27001 certification in Information Security Management Systems; the highest internationally accredited certification for Information Security.
